Fuel Cell Installation at the Matlock Heritage Railway

Our recent installation at the Matlock Heritage Railway is now powering points and signalling equipment that safely control how trains are directed along the correct tracks. The system uses an EFOY fuel cell to provide a consistent and reliable power source.

Previous attempts with solar only proved unreliable, diesel generators were too noisy and maintenance heavy, and a grid connection was quoted at £40k with significant lead times.

The fuel cell solution provided a clean, quiet, and low maintenance alternative, now fully operational and already delivering strong performance.

Feedback from site has been extremely positive, particularly around the speed of installation and ease of integration. This project highlights how fuel cells can solve real world power challenges in remote or infrastructure constrained locations.
