Delivering Reliable, Low-Carbon Energy for UK Rail Infrastructure
We recently supported a major UK rail infrastructure provider with the upgrade of their Generation 2 fuel cell systems to the latest EFOY Generation 3 technology. The transition enhances reliability, efficiency and long-term performance for critical railside applications, ensuring resilient, low-carbon power where it’s needed most.
Our fuel cells are powering key trackside infrastructure, including pedestrian crossing protection equipment at historically high-risk locations. They also power digital speed boards which allow temporary speed restrictions to be updated and removed more quickly and safely than traditional manual boards. This reduces delays and create smoother journeys for passengers, while also improving working conditions for rail staff.
These systems play an important role in improving both safety and operational efficiency. It’s great to see fuel cell technology playing a tangible role in delivering safer, smarter and more resilient transport infrastructure.
